Malaysia to file WTO complaint against EU over palm oil by November

In Malaysia, The Edge newspaper reports that the country plans to take the European Union to the World Trade Organization over its treatment of palm oil for biofuel and expects to launch the complaint by November. The country’s attorney general is already reviewing the documentation that has been prepared for submitting the complaint while details such as finding experts to argue the case is underway. The country has been threatening the EU with the complaint for the last several months in an effort to reach a diplomatic solution instead but it said earlier it would file the complaint just in case those negotiations didn’t get anywhere.
