In the UK, ICIS reports that high European ETBE prices last week encouraged producers to boost supplies sufficiently that they have reversed this week, falling $18/mt to $962-$1,012/mt in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp area. Already there is talk of producing cellulosic ETBE from Eni’s proposed facility in Piedmont, but as it won’t be online until at least 2020, other origins such as the US could provide conventional ETBE should European production not sufficiently keep up with demand.
