#3 Sunglass company goes natural with cottonseed frames

In California, sunglass company OTIS Eyewear has launched a new line made from renewable materials.

Dubbed the Eco-Acetate collection, the sunglass frames are produced from cottonseeds and other plant materials. They are also 100% biodegradable and recyclable.

“The entire OTIS team is beyond excited to bring this collection to market,” General Manager USA, Chad Crites tells Shop Eat Surf. “It’s been a long time in the making for us. For this initial launch, our goal was to design an offering of very compelling and wearable colorways in a variety of key frames from our 2019 range.”

The Eco-Acetate frames are available in four styles: OTIS best-sellers Test of Time and Omar as well as new styles Lyla and Hawton. The company has also used 100% naturally sourced mineral glass lenses since its founding in 2000.
