Azerbaijan’s sole methanol plant continuing to boost production as its supplies regional markets

In Azerbaijan, Azer News reports that the country’s only methanol producer, SOCAR, plans to produce 350,000 metric tons of the fuel by the end of this year, up from last year’s 230,000 tons. It has produced more than 710,000 tons since commissioning in 2015 and is continuing to increase its production annually. The company has been exporting methanol to Western Europe, Turkey and the Mediterranean through Georgia’s Kulevi Oil Terminal as well as the Port of Baku through Kazakhstan.
