In Minnesota, a local TV news station reports that a board member of Corn Plus announced the ethanol plant in Winnebago will be shut down due to a lack of export market that is keeping the facility from being profitable. He said the ethanol plant has made a lot of strides in improving production, but it can’t catch a break with the market, so most employees will be laid off. He indicated the facility could reopen when the market improves but under different ownership.
