Argentine SME biodiesel producers upset over government’s freezing of biodiesel prices

In Argentina, La Nación newspaper reports that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) producing biodiesel are upset by the government’s decision to freeze biodiesel prices for another 90 days, saying that the ruling is an arbitrary, discriminatory, and unilateral move by the government that will negatively impact producers, perhaps even causing them to shut down. Freezing biodiesel prices has had the effect of exposing them to currency fluctuations that are hurting them even more as soy oil prices strengthen.
