In Brazil, Reuters reports that the country has decided to allow tariff-free imports of US-origin ethanol under the same quota conditions as the past handful of years, but the trade regime has only been extended for a single year rather than two years like the last renewal. The current regime expired on Saturday. On the upside, the quota for ethanol imports under the tariff-free scheme was increased to 750 million liters annually from the previous 600 million liters.
