AirAsia looking to aviation biofuels with Airbus’ technical support

In Malaysia, AirAsia’s CEO says the company is interested in using aviation biofuels but that the R&D required is beyond its capacity, so it is exploring partnering with Airbus. The company just signed an order for 42 new Airbus aircraft valued at more than $5 billion. The group CEO didn’t mention a timeline for the collaboration or when it will start using biofuels, however, as the collaboration with Airbus on biofuels has only just begun.
