Malaysia expects to ship certified palm oil biodiesel to EU in 2020

In Malaysia, the New Straits Times newspaper reports that despite the ongoing trade dispute in Europe with southeast Asian trading partners over the sustainability and therefore market reception of palm oil, Malaysia expects to export palm oil certified by its national sustainability certification scheme to Europe in 2020. The government is aiming for 100% of palm oil production to achieve the sustainability certification but no fixed date for compliance has been set. Last year, Felda say it aimed to achieve 100% certification for its production by the end of 2019.
