DTN’s hypothetical ethanol plant edging closer towards breakeven without debt service

September 26, 2019 |

In Nebraska, DTN reports that according to their hypothetical 50 million gallon ethanol plant in South Dakota has seen margins improve slightly recently to a 34 cent per gallon loss compared to 43.9 cents per gallon estimated on August 1, taking into consideration debt service. Without having to pay debt, like many of the country’s ethanol plants, the loss would be just 3 cents per gallon compared to a loss of 13 cents per gallon on August 1.
