USDA said latest biofuel didn’t reach 15 billion gallons but White House went forward anyway

In Washington, Bloomberg reports that even though USDA officials warned against the most recent biofuels proposal agreed on October 1 to make up for small refinery hardship waivers approved by the Environmental Protection Agency, saying that it went against the promise to get biofuel blending about 15 billion gallons, the White House green lighted the deal anyway. The USDA’s stance was revealed in documents uploaded to regulations.gov on Monday but were from back-and-forth communication during the White House review of the deal before it was released to the public on October 15.
