Brazilian ethanol and biodiesel production jumps in September

In Brazil, Platts reports that National Petroleum Agency data shows production for both ethanol and biodiesel rose in September. With the B11 mandate in place since September 1, biodiesel production rose to 482.3 million liters, nearly 16% higher on the year and 11% higher than the record set in August. Sugar mills produced 4.20 billion liters during September, 13% higher on the year but nearly 10% lower than the production record hit in August as the sugarcane harvest starts to slow down.
