Agriculture Secretary says lack of ethanol exports more damaging to industry than SREs

In Washington, AgWired reports that the Agriculture Secretary told the National Association of Farm Broadcasting annual convention last week that he has the facts to prove that the ethanol industry is suffering more from a lack of exports than from demand destruction resulting from the Environmental Protection Agency’s approval of 31 small refinery hardship waivers this summer. He said that he and the president told the EPA administrator that 15 billion gallons of ethanol demand is non-negotiable.
