Platts sees Brazilian ethanol production tipping over 70% of cane mark in H1 November

November 25, 2019 |

In Brazil, Platts reports that as the sugarcane crush winds down for the season, ethanol production is expected to take up an even greater proportion of the cane, potentially reaching more than 70% during the first half of November from a total of 19.77 million metric tons. The second half of October saw more than 67% of cane used towards ethanol but as dryness reduces sugar content in cane late in the season, mills will favor ethanol even more.
