Maharashtra sugar mills offer just 220 million liters of ethanol to OMCs

November 27, 2019 |

In India, the Financial Express newspaper reports that Maharashtra mills were meant to supply 580 million liters of ethanol during 2019/20 but due to a serious lack of sugarcane to meet sugar production capacity, mills only offered to supply oil marketing companies 220 million liters for the season. Even though production is low, the state’s coop mill association said it had expected at least 400 million liters to be offered but expect mills are holding on to supplies for later.
