NORDEN teams with tech spinoff on 3.5 year lignin-based marine fuel trial

In Denmark, Russia’s Port News reports that NORDEN is taking another step forward with its renewable shipping fuel plans by teaming with Technical University of Denmark spinoff Kvasir Technologies to use lignin-based liquid fuels using their gasification-related technology. The 3.5 year collaboration as part of Danish project ShippingLab will see NORDEN test the fuel at sea, similar to other trials it has undertaken with marine biofuels since 2018, in order to increase understanding about the fuel and its characteristics for shipping.
