#4 Airline trials biscotti coffee cups

In New Zealand, a local airline will trial the use of edible coffee cups made from biscotti in a bid to reduce the reduce in-flight service items.

Air New Zealand already uses compostable cups, but has partnered with Twiice to make coffee service on their flights even greener with the tasty option.

Twiice insists its cups are sturdy enough to keep your coffee out of your lap until you are ready to chow down on the vanilla-cookie vessel. “The cup will last at least as long as your coffee (and then some), so you’ll still get a crunchy snack at the end,” according to Twiice, in an Instagram post announcing the partnership.

Air New Zealand has already swapped 24 million single-use plastic items with alternatives, and aims to expand this to 55 million in the near future.
