In Brazil, Reuters reports that UNICA said part of President Bolsonario’s upcoming visit to India will include discussions on collaboration regarding boosting ethanol production. By boosting production, the country will reduce sugar production which will in turn not only improve air quality in cities plagued by pollution like New Delhi but will also reduce the subsidies required for farmers and mills that have weighed on the country’s sugar industry and economy overall. UNICA is preparing an Asian roadshow to promote ethanol in Pakistan, China and Thailand in February.
