Brazilian biodiesel blending mandates seen boosting animal feed production

January 2, 2020 |

In Brazil, Canal Rural reports that increasing demand for soybean oil for biodiesel, due to increased diesel blending, is expected to reduce the idleness of soybean processing industries, according to the Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics (Cepea). Biodiesel blending recently increased to 11%, moving to 12% in March, and will continue to increase 1% per year to 2023. Increased demand may even contribute to the increased supply of bran to the Brazilian animal protein market.
