Tadweer to begin paying for UCO to source feedstock for biodiesel production

January 27, 2020 |

In the UAE, Gulf News reports that Tadweer says residents as well as restaurants will be able to sell, not donate as is common in many markets, their used cooking oil for biodiesel feedstock by the end of 2020. Cafeterias and hotels can also participate in the scheme. The company’s general manager said UCO will be paid “market price” but didn’t indicate what that might be. Its biodiesel production facility will be ready by year’s end when the collection campaign will be launched. By 2023, Tadweer expects to be producing energy from waste as well as aviation biofuel too.
