Brazilian hydrous ethanol prices break record at $607.31/m3

February 3, 2020 |

In Brazil, Platts reports that January hydrous ethanol prices reached a record high of $607.31 per cubic meter last Friday afternoon, breaking the previous record that was set on April 18 during a fuel shortage. UNICA reported last week that ethanol stocks are low, so prices will likely continue to increase during the interharvest period until production starts up again in March. Even though it is technically the off season, some mills are still producing ethanol to take advantage of high prices, with about 1.8 billion liters expected to have been produced in January.
