White House to convene meeting over SRE court appeal decision this week

March 16, 2020 |

In Washington, Politico reports that the White House is trying to organize a meeting between President Trump, the Secretary of Agriculture and the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency this week to decide whether or not to appeal the January 10th Circuit Court of Appeals decision ruling on small refinery hardship waivers. The court recently granted a two-week extension to the deadline to appeal the decision. The president allegedly told Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst that the court decision wouldn’t be appealed but other sources say the decision about what to do with SREs hasn’t yet been made.
