Ethanol production falls to lowest level since 2009 but stocks build anyway

April 8, 2020 |

In Washington, DTN reports that Energy Information Administration data shows ethanol production fell to its lowest level since April 2009 last week to 672,000 bpd but that was still well above the blending demand of 502,000 bpd, the lowest since May 2008, leading for further buildup of stocks in all five regions. Stocks grew a total of 1.374 million barrels, more than 5% higher than the week prior, to 27.091 million barrels, nearly 4% higher than the same date last year.
