Biofuels not on a level playing field – Ethanol and biofuel reactions to USDA’s $19B coronavirus farmer relief package

In Washington, D.C., news came Friday evening that the U.S. Department of Agriculture created a new Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP) that will take several actions to assist farmers, ranchers, and consumers in response to the COVID-19 national emergency.

But, it does not provide any assistance to America’s ethanol and renewable fuels industries, which as reported in The Digest on April 5 have been hit hard. April 5^th seems a long time ago when ‘only’ 30% of ethanol plants were offline, compared to today where about 50% are offline.
