February biodiesel production down by 2M gallons

In Washington, Platts reports Energy Information Administration data shows biodiesel production in February fell to 132 million gallons, 2 million gallons lower than in January. Of the total, 57% of feedstock came from soy oil while 75% was produced in the Midwest region. Soybean oil consumption increased by 54 million pounds from January at 575 million pounds, followed by corn oil at 134 million pounds and canola oil at 93 million pounds. A total of 91 biodiesel plants were producing in February.
