US Grains Council says global ethanol production could fall to 2013 levels

May 6, 2020 |

In the UK, World Grain reports that the US Grains Council said in a Global Grain webinar that global ethanol production could fall to those not seen since 2013 at around 90 billion gallons globally. It said it could take until 2022 for the market to recover post-COVID-19. Despite the fall in production, it estimates that Brazil will ramp up its corn-based ethanol production to 8 billion liters over the next eight years, eventually accounting for 20% market share.
