RFA believes worst of the COVID-19 impacts may be over

In Washington, Energy AgWired reports that the Renewable Fuels Association’s CEO believes that the worst of the COVID-19 impacts on the ethanol industry may be over, but recovery will be long. With ethanol production reaching a five-week high the week before last, the most recent reporting period by the Energy Information Administration, it means that plants that had scaled by production are beginning to slowly ramp up as demand also increases with the easing of some shelter in place orders. As much as 50% of production had been scaled back or mothballed at the height of the pandemic.
