In Washington, Bloomberg reports that under a draft plan developed by the Environmental Protection Agency, biofuel blending targets would be slightly higher than last year. The agency has come under fire by the biofuel industry and lawmakers from key biofuel states for not boosting the mandate this year to compensate for demand destruction from hardship waivers granted to oil refineries in recent years. An additional 800 million gallons have been proposed for 2021 blending including an additional 80 million gallons of cellulosic biofuels.
