In Massachusetts, Sweetwater Energy has been selected to become part of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s STEX25 accelerator program for growth-stage companies. STEX25 is a business development accelerator within the MIT Startup Exchange.

STEX25 is a business development accelerator within the MIT Startup Exchange, of which Sweetwater is a member, featuring 25 industry-ready ventures that have proven themselves as exceptional companies and are poised for significant growth. STEX25 participants receive promotion and travel and are prioritized for meetings with the MIT Industrial Liaison Program’s (ILP) 260 member companies. Sweetwater is one of a handful of companies named to the 2020-2021 roster, with the tenure running from April 13, 2020, through July 9, 2021.

“Sweetwater’s potential to effect global change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions through their development of low cost fuels, chemicals, plastics and advanced materials that replace petroleum-derived alternatives, fits perfectly with MIT Startup Exchange’ and ILP’s objectives for our STEX25 companies,” says Marcus Dahllof, Program Director of the MIT Startup Exchange. “By pairing transformational early-stage companies such as Sweetwater with proven global leaders, we can accelerate positive impact worldwide.”

Once inducted, MIT STEX25 members build relationships with MIT ILP directors whose primary role is to match industrial interests with attractive technology companies.
