Tight Chicago Argo ethanol stocks pushes price to seven-month high

July 7, 2020 |

In Texas, Platts reports Chicago Argo ethanol prices high a seven-month high this week at $1.53/gal thanks to shrinking stock levels of perhaps just 20% at the Kinder Morgan terminal. The US Army Corps of Engineers is working on a river maintenance project that will limit barge traffic for the terminal, so buyers took additional stocks in June in order to wait out the potential delays later on. It is unclear how long the maintenance works are going to continue.
