Brazilian June ethanol exports up 75% vs 2019 thanks to weak Real

July 8, 2020 |

In Brazil, Platts reports data from the Secretariat of International Trade, or SECEX, shows June ethanol exports were 75% higher on the year at 298.84 million liters. More than 43% of the total volume was exported to the US while South Korea received the bulk of the remaining volume at around 82 million liters. The Brazilian real’s weakness against the dollar has encouraged ethanol exports together with the need to reduce supplies in light of lower demand due to COVID-19.
