European T2 ethanol prices highest since pre-pandemic

In the Netherlands, Platts reports European T2 ethanol prices rose to Eur639.75/cu m FOB Rotterdam, the highest since before the COVID-19 pandemic, as a result of tightening supplies. Production has dropped as a result of the pandemic but also a lot of fuel ethanol has been diverted for hand sanitizers and disinfectants to battle the disease’s spread. Undenatured ethanol for fuel blending is in tight supply while imports for denatured ethanol for industrial use is flowing in from Argentina, Brazil and Canada.
