Dutch construction company switches to HVO for asphalt equipment

July 13, 2020 |

In the Netherlands, BAM Infra Nederland is the first construction company to switch to Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) fuel for all of its asphalt equipment. With this fuel, BAM reduces the CO2 emissions of its asphalt processing teams by up to 89%. For BAM, HVO fuel is the new standard for its asphalt equipment that now runs on diesel. BAM has entered into an agreement with OK Oliecentrale for the supply of this sustainable fuel.

The switch to HVO fuel is in line with BAM’s sustainability ambitions. The company previously used its own manufactured 100% electric roller and is currently looking at options for the application of hydrogen to have emission-free asphalt processing teams in the long run.
