June RIN production predominantly higher over May as biofuel production ticks higher

In Washington, Platts reports Environmental Protection Agency data shows RIN production for conventional ethanol rose nearly 28% in June at 1.073 billion RINs compared to the month prior. Of that total, 387.39 million RINs biomass-based diesel (D4) RINs were generated, nearly 5% higher on the month, while Advanced biofuel (D5) RIN generation fell by more than a quarter to 9.45 million RINs. Cellulosic biofuel (D3) RINs saw an uptick of more than 10% over May at 41.87 million RINs.
