Marathon Petroleum buys Duonix Beatrice to pretreat RD feedstock

July 20, 2020 |

In Ohio, local press reports that property records show Marathon Petroleum Corp.’s Corn Oil Renewable Energy bought the Duonix Beatrice biodiesel plant for $11.7 million. Marathon says will be used as a renewable diesel feedstock pretreatment aggregation and processing center for corn oil, soybean oil and rendered fats. The pretreated feedstocks will then be shipped off to the company’s renewable diesel facility in Dickinson, N.D. The conversion of the plant that has had several false starts could be online by early 2021.
