In Washington state, local press reports that Impact Bioenergy has begun producing renewable natural gas through anaerobic digestion of organic waste, which it is calling Organic RNG or ORNG (orange). The company is still far from retail sales of the fuel that was recently tested in a week-long trial in a hybrid sedan, but it expects to begin selling 5 and 10 gallon propane cylinders of ORNG for LNG-capable vehicles. Future plans include retailing the fuel for off-grid home delivery.
