Brazilian H1 July ethanol production down just 2% on year

In Brazil, Platts reports ethanol production during the first half of July was at 2.1 billion liters, more than 2% lower on the year, while ethanol production for the season through July 16 was down nearly 6% on the year at 12.1 billion liters. Sugar mills have been focusing more on sugar production than ethanol this season due to lower fuel demand and higher sugar margins in line with increased sugar prices and a weak Real.
