Indonesian biodiesel consumption seen falling 13.6% on year

July 29, 2020 |

In Indonesia, the Jakarta Post reports biodiesel consumption is expected to fall 13.6% on the year to 8.3 billion liters due to COVID-19 impacts on fuel demand. Pertamina expects overall fuel demand to drop 25% on the year, figures which then form the basis for Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry data. Falling demand for aviation fuel also feeds into the overall dataset. In case subsidies for biodiesel blending are still required despite the fall in demand, the ministry is keeping the decree regarding subsidies active.
