Ethanol stocks fall to 3.5 year low

In Washington, DTN reports Energy Information Administration data shows ethanol stocks fell to the lowest level since December 2016 at 18.678 million bbl as consumption continues to outpace production. Production fell again to 918,000 bpd, down 12% on the year, as producers seek to keep margins profitable with higher prices and lower volumes. Blending during the first week of August was at 861,000 bpd, 11% lower than last year but still above the four-week average of 849,000 bpd.
