August 26, 2020 |

In Brazil, Reuters reports UNICA data shows ethanol production fell nearly 6% on the year during the first half of August to 2.27 billion liters as sugar mills continue to focus on sugar production over ethanol. That was further demonstrated by an increase of sugar production by 51% against the same period last year. Ethanol sales during the first half of August were just 1.2 billion liters, down 18% on the year, as driving continues to be impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
