#3 Fashion staple goes green as Vollebak introduces eucalyptus and pomegranate hoodie

In London, clothing brand Vollebak has launched a compostable hoodie made from eucalyptus and dyed with pomegranate. Once the user wishes to dispose of the hoodie, all they have to do is add it to their compost heap or bury it in a garden.

“The thing that makes it different is simply the way it starts and ends its life. Each hoodie is made from eucalyptus trees from sustainably managed forests before being submerged in a giant vat of pomegranate dye to give it its color. As it’s made entirely from plants, the hoodie is fully biodegradable and compostable,” the company tells Yanko Design.

Other innovations from the sustainability focused clothing brand include a solar powered jacket and a biodegradable t-shirt made from algae.
