September 16, 2020 |

In India, TechCrunch reports LanzaTech is developing a new small-scale waste biomass gasifier will be hosted at Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemical. The gasifier, to be built together with Ankur Scientific, will be used to make ethanol and chemicals rather than power. If the trial is successful, they gasifiers could be rolled out across India, potentially producing up to 25 billion liters of ethanol annually while removing 60 million tons of CO2 emissions. LanzaTech’s CEO believe that holistic thinking will be key to creating opportunities for decentralized production to compete with oil majors.
