September 16, 2020 |

It’s all about food and lots of steak this week as we look at the Top 8 Innovations including Faux pas-free foie gras firm nabbing a government grant in Japan to build a commercial bioreactor facility to produce cultured serum for cosmetics and cultured steak and other meats. And 3D printed steak startup Meat-Tech 3D Ltd. is planning to buy an unnamed cultured fat company for $17.5 million and plans to list soon on the Nasdaq. Though not everyone is happy about cultured meats, like Gen-Z who is wary of lab-grown meat according to a new study.

In today’s Digest, we ‘digest’ these food innovations as well as a sweet honey-coated mask to help combat COVID-19, tableware from sugar beet waste, utensils from hemp, pineapple waste converted into aerogels with applications in food preservation, and more.
