Officials break ground at Osun ethanol biorefinery

In Nigeria, the Business Post reports that groundbreaking took place for the Osun ethanol biorefinery that will produce cassava-based ethanol. Upon commissioning in the next 24 to 36 months, the facility is expected to produce 7 million liters of ethanol annually. The project is a PPP with SMEFUND as the private partner and the government supplying 21 hectares of land as its equity contribution. SMEFUND is the parent company of Green Energy & Biofuels that promotes clean cooking with ethanol.
