Argentine 2020 biodiesel production seen at 10-year low of 1.4 million tons

In Argentina, Clarin newspaper reports the Argentine biodiesel cluster, which generated exports of more than $1.2 billion in 2017, faces the last quarter of the year with a worrying projection: it is estimated that it will produce 1.4 million metric tons in 2020, the lowest seen in ten years. Of the total, about 650,000 tons will likely be exported while the rest will be for the domestic market. The COVID-19 pandemic but also the government freezing the pricing formula have negatively impacted the sector.
