Coalition calls on EPA to restore the RFS

September 24, 2020 |

In Washington, WNAX reports the Renewable Fuels Association, the American Coalition for Ethanol, the National Corn Grower’s Association and the National Farmers Union are calling on Environmental Protection Agency to release the 2021 blending volumes, demonstrating that it has “restored” the Renewable Fuel Standard. The groups say that rejecting the gap-year SRE applications was a good start to achieving that goal, but the agency needs to go further. The proposal for 2021 was due out in July but the EPA administrator has repeatedly said that the COVID-19 pandemic has shifted the market dynamics and the agency needs more time to sort out its proposal.
