President Trump trying to woo Midwest voters by finally implementing Wishlist

September 24, 2020 |

In Iowa, with less than six weeks until the presidential election, Reuters reports President Trump is in a hurry to make good on his promises to the ethanol industry in order to secure the Midwest. The wish list by the ethanol industry presented by Iowa senators at a meeting with the president in September 2019 has been serving as a blueprint to what policy changes would make the sector most happy ahead of the election. A meeting was on September 12 on the anniversary of the first meeting where complaints were made that little progress had been seen. Although progress has been made on E15, the Brazilian ethanol quota and rejecting gap-year SREs, sources said there are still issues that need to be resolved before the election to assure the industry’s vote.
