Heathrow CEO says aviation should get priority access to biofuels

In the UK, Business Green reports that Heathrow Airport’s CEO believes that the aviation industry should have first dibs on limited biofuel resources due to the limited decarbonization options for airlines compared to other types of heavy transport who have more possibilities such as electric and hydrogen. The UK’s airline industry has teamed with supply chain partners and government to work towards a net zero goal by 2050. Rolls Royce believes aviation biofuel demand could be as much as 500 million metric tons annually.
