In India, the Business Standard newspaper reports the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs is expected to soon approve an increase for ethanol prices from all three categories (B-molasses, C-molasses and sugarcane juice) at between 3 and 4 cents per liter. The increased price won’t be applied to ethanol produced from broken grains. Ethanol blending is currently at 5.1% with mills having so far supplied 1.42 billion liters in the season ending in November, 73% of the volume requested by the oil marketing companies in their tenders.
