UNICA says September ethanol exports jumped 65% to 331 million liters

In Brazil, Reuters reports UNICA data shows September ethanol exports reached 331 million liters, up 65%. Ethanol production during the second half of the month fell more than 3% on the year to 2.16 billion liters as sugar mills continue to focus on sugar production which saw a nearly 60% increase over last year during the same period. Only 54% of sugarcane was used to produce ethanol whereas 66% was used for ethanol during H2 2019. Ethanol production is down nearly 7.5% this season compared to 2019 at 23.44 billion liters.
